Target Audiences

Primary:(60%) Students and white-collar workers

These are the students or white-collar workers probably working at the Longwood medical area or studying at universities nearby. They would be 18 to 45 years old, live within walking distance of the cafe, and visit it almost every weekday. They care about their coffee but don’t have time or don’t care enough to make it at home. They just want a nice morning boost before they go to class or work. They know a Dunkin Donuts nearby offers cheaper options but choose Solid Ground Cafe because they want better-quality coffee.

Secondary:(30%) retired locals

These are the older residents who lived in Mission Hill. They would come to the cafe on both weekdays and weekends and try to start their day with a cup of coffee and an egg sandwich. They know the stuff by name and would converse with the staff during the wait. They appreciate the constant quality of the cafe and prefer traditional coffee and breakfast options. They would also come in pairs sometimes and like to enjoy breakfast together.

Tertiary:(10%) Tourist/ Visitors

These are the tourists who are visiting Mission Hill. Maybe they are visiting the neighborhood for friends and family or visiting Boston. They just happen to be hungry or tired from the trip and need a space for coffee or food. They found the Solid Ground Cafe, which seemed to fit their appetite. So they order a coffee or an egg sandwich and dine in. They might not ever come to the cafe again, but perhaps they would tell their friends and family about the good coffee or food.
